quick update

I played the 4,40$ MTT 180 seater at pokerstars.
Ended at the 7th place. I played very calm and strict.
And only had one bad beat and that was my last hand. The FT was open for 5 or 6 hands, so didn't had a read about every body.
Got dealt:
QQ as fourth in chip lead.
So I raise 6400 chips (blind were 600 1200 and ante was 75).
The BB calls.
On the board 6K6.
To check what the villain has, I raise another 5000.
He re-raises all-in.
So, now the thinking starts. does he has the king?
I decided to call. He didn't had the king but one of the remaining 6s.
I was sure that he wanted to buy the pot. So credit to him.

Only played 3 SNGs today.
A 9 seater where I came in second.
A 45 seater where I busted out half of the pack.
And the 180 seater.
Did some great lay downs!!!!!! Finally!

Conclusion of this evening.
I made a profit!
I won my biggest price ever (something around 25$).
And more important I'm back in the green figures.

Pokerstars account at this moment 51$ something. I deposit 40$.

No poker tomorrow bu instead a lot of beer! Will be going to Werchter the biggest Festival in Belgium. Its more or less a present for my wife, so I hope she will be enjoying it.

The fish I am

Was hoping that my play was progressing but I have to admit that I'm one of the so many fishes in the pound.
Still I play to many hands and make to often the wrong decision.

I started out very great at PokerStars and build up my stack to 77$ (all time high) but now it is at a all time low. While I'm writing this my account says 33,28$. Still playing at 2 3,40$ SNGs, so it can increase a little bit.

If I want to clear my deposit bonus I have to shape up. Still 320FFPs to go. I completed 20% of the requirement so far. So this will be the real challenge. Get the money before my money dries out.

My games today on PokerStars

First I registered for a 2.20$ MTT. More about that later.

To fill the time until the MTT, I registered to a 18 seater SNG (1.75$). Managed to survive around 20 hands but these 2 hands killed me. Both against the same player. First I got pocket pairs 10s and decide to raise 5 times the BB. The calling station raises to all-in. I check. He shows QJ. A J on the flop leaves me behind with 600 chips. Around 10 hands later I got A6 in the BB. The calling station raises 3 times the BB and knowing that he probably has a K or Q, I reraise to all-in. Result, bye bye tourney he had A3 and the flop of course had a 3.

Another attempt on the 18 seater. Whooh won 4 hands in a row. First times I got an A dealt, to end the streak with American Airlines, with which I won a pot of 7000 chips. Ended fifth. Got eliminated with Pocket pair 66 against AA. Unfortunately the flop had a 6 and an fucking ACE!!!!! So, not aware of the American Airlines danger, I move all-in. Painful!

In the mean while the MTT has started. 1243 entrants and 180 places paid.
and my first hand. BANG right into a river. Got dealt 53u in the BB. Everybody calls, so I check! The flop 5 10 3. yeah. I raise 20, and got 3 limper. The turn is a 8 I raise 40 and got one limper left. The river again a 10. So I raise 40 again. He calls and shows pocket pair 7s.
10 hands later, i got my stacked doubled up with Ak vs A10. Mhh feels good.
20 hands later, I call an all-in with my pocket pair 10s to run against a flush! Dropping my chip count just below average.
Around 10 hands later I took revenge for my cracked pocket 10s. My K6 suited crushed the pocket pair 5s. The flop was 6, 4, 2. With 2 diamonds, just as my K6. So, i go all-in and he calls. My pair of 6s where strong enough, but the river completed the revenge with another diamond.
First hour break. Still alive and kicking. At the moment still 410 players. Currently at the 55th place.
Ran into a Pocket pairs of Aces again. This time with AK and a K on the flop. Sets me back to 210th position. I have to remeber that only 180 places are paid.
Climbed a small number of places to 190th position with still 227 players left. Will I succeed?
Shit, lost with a Flush against a FH. Dropping me back a lot of places.
16 players to go. I may not choke and have to play my cards strong.
Blinds are starting to hurt no. 200/400 with 25 ante.
SHIIIIIT, elimated at place 184. Called a raise with AJ of hearts. Got a re-raise on top. At that moment in time I was pot committed. The other turned a pocket pair of 4s. No J or A came as rescue.

Didn't play so bad, but I could have done better.

Tilt, Tilt, Tilt

O man. Sunday I went TILT.
SNG after SNG I got bad beats. And in stead of quit playing, I continued and continued.
As a result I lost 20$ of my profit, with other words almost all of it. (6$ remains)

I got AA cracked, KK cracked. My flush beaten by a better flush, etc, etc....
I guess this is also part of Poker but still it is difficult to cope with it.

Also did not had time to join the bloggernament. Pity. But next week I will be there, I hope.
Also a small positive note, for the first time I ended up ITM in the 1,70$ 18 seater.

Today I will play very very strict.
Back to the basis of Poker.

First Deposit Bonus chase on PokerStars

I’m now playing for around 10 days on Pokerstars. I was attracted by the PokerRoom cause of its big name and the fact that most reviews say that the level of the average player on PokerStars is higher than is most other rooms.
Now this is the second where I make an own money deposit. The first one was Unibet Poker, where I played 5 months with my 5$ deposit. L

Also I was attracted by the first deposit bonus, which would double my money. Also nice to get some free cash! But….I didn’t realize that it is going to take so much time to collect enough FPPs to collect enough FPPs.
Cause my deposit was 40$, I need to collect 400FPP.
After 10 days of playing I collected 47 FPPs or 11,5% of the required total. PokerStars gives you enough time to collect the limit. Around half a year. The problem is that without even a Bronze VIP level (Requires 2000 FPPS/month) the increase of my FPPs is fucking slow! A quick calculation tells me that my average is 4 FPPs/day. With more than 150 days left, it is very well achievable.
Again a quick calculation: 150 days to go, 353 FPPs more required means 2,5 FPPs each. In my case meaning 3 SNGs/day.

So now we run into problems.
1) There are days where I easily play 4 to 5 SNGs but also days that my laptop even isn’t switched on. So let’s say that I will play 100 days in stead of 150. Result 3,5 SNGs each play day. And this is a lot. An option would be to play multiple SNGs at a time. But this would probably destroy on my ROI.
2) Let’s assume that there is plenty of time to collect the remaining 353 FPPs then there is the fact that I should end ITM enough. At the moment everything is going fine. For the first time in 10 days I ended up in red figures. Yesterday I had a loss around 4$. Probably my loosing streak is started by this or it is coming closer. Remember it does not matter how good you are, everybody will face a loosing streak one day or another.
3) If I want to collect this bonus. PokerStars is the only room where I should play but I also want to try Full Tilt or the rounders at Unibet Poker. For these rounders you pay an entry fee of 5$ and a rake of 0.50$. There are 5 rounds. In the first round the first 2 get a ticket for the second round. Number 3 till 10 are eliminated and have to buy a new ticket for round 1. In round 2 to 4, number 1 and 2 get a ticket for the next round and number 3 and 4 get a ticket for the same round again. Number 5 till 10 are eliminated and have to buy a new ticket again. Round 5: The final table is where the money is. Out the top of my head. Number gets 5000$, number 2 gets 4000$, number 3 gets 3000$, number 4 gets 2000$ and last and also least gets 1000$ (The prizes can be incorrect). Number 6 to 10 have the honour that they reached level 5, but will not get any money and have to be a new ticket again. (If you want to try it, I think that you will obvious see the Unibet banner on the right of the screen J).

So, this means a new goal for me. I will be very glad if I can collect my deposit bonus without having to deposit any fresh money to my PokerStars account. It does not matter if I win my last FPP with the last money in my account, cause that would mean that I played for free in the last half year J Which is better than loosing money.

Pokerstars Update and PokerStars Bonus Chase

I cannot break the 80$ barrier on Pokerstars. Today I made a small loss of a few dollar cents.
Won one SNG, came in second twice and four times I did not end up ITM.

In the chase for the PokerStars first deposit bonus I passed the 10% of the goal. I need to collect 400 FPPs, which I find a lot. It is definitely not free money which you are getting there. So far, I collected 45 FPPs in 10 days time. And this pace it will be close.

Not much poker these days

Did not play a lot. Only 2 SNGs on Pokerstars. One first place and the second one I did not end up in the money.To be honnest I was to tired!

The reason for not playing were as simple as Dell. Yesterday I got my ass kicked in a third round of a tennis tournament and today was my birthday. So a lot of visitors.

Also I have putting some effort on the poker bloglisting, which is finally paying of. Already 41 blogs.

Shark Scope and the blogger tournament

I participated on the Blogger tournament but got my ass kicked. Ended 16 out of 21.
But I will play it again. A very nice atmosphere around the table for a change.

Also tried a 6$ SNG on Pokerstars. But o man, that's nothing for me. The play was so passive. Nothing for me. So, I will wait some more before I play these again.

A friend (MrPink) refered me to http://www.sharkscope.com . A very nice site where you can find a lot of stats about your SNGs and MTT on the biggest poker rooms.

Pokerstars and Shark Scope

It is going very well at Poker Stars.
Played 7 SNGs and ended up 6 times ITM. And the only time I didn't I really got 3 bad beats in a row. Trice I was well ahead before the river and each time I got rivered. If that is not bad enough it was three times against the same player.

No, I'm playing for the first time with my own money and on a room where some sites keep stats for, I almost check each day Shark Scope (http://www.sharkscope.com). Until today my form was very hot. Since today the form is missing.

Maybe I will join the blogger poker tour. The only problem is that it is maybe too late for me. 10 p.m. the start time is not the problem but I don't know how long it will run. And Monday is the beginning of the working week :(.

Also, since long finally some good news again from the Belgian Football team. The youth team qualified for the semies on the EC under 21 and also for the Olympics! Yeah!!

PokerStars

I have created an account on Poker Stars. A friend asked my why, cause according to him it is one of the most difficult poker rooms if we look at the level of the poker players on the lowest stakes.

The reason is simple. I almost have an account on most rooms. Never thought that I could write this a year ago. I did not want to create an account on Party Poker cause they force you to fill-in a bank account, which I refuse to do. The other possible room was Full Tilt but I know that within a few months a site will hand out a 50$ no deposit bonus there, the requirements is that you never had an account on full tilt before. And the last possibility was InterPoker but they don’t accept my preferred payment method. So sorry InterCasino.

My first experiences with PokerStars are hopeful.

It is very easy to play on multiple tables at the same time. I tried it yesterday with a Freeroll, combined with a 3,30$ MTT and a 1,10$ 9 seater SNG.

So far I played 2 1,10$ 9 seater SNGs and won both. I lost some money with the MTT but won a astonishing 0.24$ with the freeroll (ended 54th out of 3400+ players, which I consider not bad at all). Also played some money tables to speed up the clearance of my deposit bonus and also there I managed to get some profit.

2 days after my 40$ deposit the cashier says that my account has 44,99$ and I’m only 394FPP away from my deposit bonus.

Which is the only drawback of PokerStars. If you only play at the lower stakes, like I do, it is very difficult (read almost impossible) to clear the bonus.

You need to collect 10 times your deposit in FPP. And for my favourite SNG of 1$, they will only give you 1 FPP. So this means trying to speed up the process with a lot of play on the money tables. And even then it will be hard. Yesterday evening I played for 15 minutes on a 0.10/0.25 money table, as a result a got 3 FPP in return. Peanuts! And I’m not yet willing to risk my bankroll on more expensive hands of SNGs. Also tried the 0.02/0.04 money tables, but there it is almost impossible to gather some FPP.

So, I doubt it if I will manage to clear the bonus. I have until end of this year. Let’s say 150 days. Meaning 3 SNGs per day or 15 minutes on the money tables per day. No way that this will happen.

But on the other side, their support team is top of the class. I forget to enter the first deposit bonus code when doing my first deposit. So bye bye first deposit bonus. So I had send them an email explaining my stupid mistake and within half an hour I got an email back, telling me that the bonus was added. And indeed after a visit to the cashier I could confirm this.

Moneybookers and VC and DC poker

I'm still wanting till my money arrives at my moneybookers account. It was a though decision between Neteller and Moneybookers. But will all the troubles Neteller has at the moment in the US, I thought it was safer to use Moneybookers, which is accepted by 90% of the Poker Rooms.

In the mean time I open up an account on VC Poker. If you never had account here before you can get a 10$ No deposit bonus!

Had a strange SNG this morning there. For once some hands.
5 players (of the 6) still in the SNG.
I got AJu, so I do a raise of 80$. The SB raises all-in to 505$ the BB folds and I call.
He turns 88 and the rest is history. My stack dropped to 850 chips. (you start with 1000 chips)

The next hand I won a pot of 1830 chips with A10 vs A6. No 10 of 6 or the board, but 4 spades, the same as my 10.

A few hands later, I got pocket pair 8s. I'm the BB. The first 2 folds and the SB calls. So I raise 60, which is also called by the SB. The board is 846 of clubs. The SB checks so I assume that he doesn't have the flush so I raise 120 again, which is called again. The turn is a fucking 5. So now the SB has a clear straight possibility. He bets 120. I should have know better but I call. The river is 9. He bets 420 and I don't know why but I call. And off course he has a 7.

And from that moment on I tilted I guess. 5 hands later I get Pocket Pairs 9s and I'm sitting in the BB. The one in early position raise 200 (the BB at the time) and I go all-in. He calls and shown A10. And on the flop is was already over with a 10 on the board.

So, bye bye Dremeber.

I know stupid play!

Yesterday was even worse a 14 player MMT. I crashed on the bubble with A9 against QQ.

second set of 50 sngs completed

Pretty proud on my results in the second set of 50 SNGs.
58% ITM.

11 wins
18 times second
7 times third
6 times 4th
8 times fifth

My biggest ITM streak was 6 times in a row, the same as my biggest lossing streak.
Managed to win 4 SNGs in a row.

But I lost all my winnings in the MTTs.

So, now I have decided that I will create a Moneybookers account and deposit 100$. I will divide over 2 Poker Rooms, but don't know yet which ones.
Would love to try InterPoker but they don't have the possibility to deposit via Moneybookers.

Full Tilt also will not be selected cause with a month there will be an action to receive a 50$ no deposit bonus.

second challenge almost finished

I did not play a lot of poker these days.
First of all it if finally decent weather here in Belgium. Secondly the yearly tennis tournament at our tennis club is going on and I was playing in three divisions. And finally Roland Garros is busy.

Still I managed to loose all my money on Ultimate.
So back to Unibet. Only played 3 SNGs in the last 4 days. Twice I won the SNG and the other one I became second. Still 9 SNGs to go and the results look promising. At the moment I have 11 wins and 13 second places. Already know that i will make at least a profit of 2.2$ with this challenge. But still I have to recover the 9.95$ loss of the previous one.

Probably it will be finished at the end of the week.

Was a little bit scared this morning cause the bloglisting was not availble anymore! But they corrected the bug.
