Okay, I have to admit I should not have played poker this evening. Was still completely fucked up due to some things that happened today. I really have to remind myself that there are more important things in life than a stupid football game.
But I did it anyway!
Still don't think that it influenced my play. Anyway, I ran into monsters, into higher pocket pairs and most of all bad beats. Waiting patiently on my monsters but they never came. This has happened way to often in the last few days. As I wrote in my previous post, as a poker player you will have bad days and good days. Upswings and downswing, etc... You get the picture.
O my god, just lost a pot with AKs against 59 unsuited.
But to come short, I have lost completely my confidence. Both in myself and in Pokerstars. So I have withdraw a big chunk of my BR, leaving me with 19$ behind. When this dries out, I will see what options I have left.
No BR worries. I have a little more money than I started. So I made no loss but I have to admit that I'm still a small fish in the big ocean surrounded by sharks and swimming donkeys. During my 4 months on stars I made some progress but not enough.
Normally I should reading one pokerbook after another but I don't want that. People around me actually invested time in reading books, studying plays etc... and it really pays of.
I will see where it goes from here. Probably I will open an account in a room where I can get a rakeback deal.
Not much to say anymore (for while at least).
Good luck at the tables,
Dremeber

Ups and Downs |
Strange Poker week. Had a losing streak of 17 SNGs. So I did what I had to do. First I have withdrawn some money from stars so that I could not loose all my winnings of the past months. And more importantly I replayed all the SNGs where I did not end ITM.
The result from this investigation were shocking. In 20$ of the SNGs I ran into monsters in another 20% I just made bad moves but in the remaining 60% I really did nothing wrong. So, I guess the RNG was against me. Nothing u can do about it. Still it is hard to remain your calm.
Yesterday I had to fine SNGs. One was a 45seater which I took down. MrPink thx for the support. And last night I did reach the FT of the 4$ 180 seater at Stars. Biakkax and BurnlyMik thx for the support. Wouldn't have made without you guys also learned a lot from it.
As you can see in the graph from Sharkscope I really have big swings. I should control these but I don't know how.
We will be start working on this.
Good luck at the tables,
Dremeber

My BR is melting like snow for the sun |
Yep, it is not going good with me. Even so bad that I decided last night to withdraw some money from my Stars account. On the positive side the BR which I have at Stars at the moment is pure profit.
The problem is that now my BR is under pressure. Only a miserable $70 left. So I have to pick my SNGs wisely. Currently I'm investigating in which SNGs I make the most profit. My top SNG at the moment is the 5$ 45 seater but my BR doesn't allow me to play these. So probably I will go for the 1,75$ 18 seater or even lower but first I will give it another shot to qualify for the Sunday 100K via the 2.20$ 45 seater. I will give myself 5 chances not one more and not one less. I should be capable of qualifying at least once but I also had that idea yesterday!
Yesterday was the drop which cause the overflow of the bucket. Played 7 SNGs and not even close to the money once. Partly due to bad decisions but mainly cause by being card dead and running into monsters.
It is strange when everything is running fine with poker you have the idea that you are a real poker god, when it runs bad like now my respect for my fellow bloggers who are actually making a decent profit each month grows respectivly.
It is like I lost the feeling with the table and completely forgot the basic rules of good poker play.
Good luck at the tables,
Dremeber

Weekend Update |
Played a lot this weekend and with a lot I mean a lot. I varied some rock solid poker with some awful decisions but I hope that I learned a lot.
First things first. A fellow blogger of mine had some critics about using or not using some statistics. I have to place one cause I actually proud of my achievement.
As you can see, I finally am out of the red figures. Within the last month I came back from 75$ in the red to a profit of 19$. But now the hard part comes, I need firstly to stay in the profit figures and secondly try to improve it. I guess I have to face it that I'm a tournament player and not a cash player.
The weekend started really enjoyable. We played a Tag Team tournament with some RTR members. First all participants were given a number and then I random generated made the team. Numer 2 was my number and number 7 was given to Mair, so the team name was quickly choosen Team Hammer. I have to admit that it was not my best tournament but Mair was railing and ended in second position, together with my 7th place we ended up second in the team competition.
The highlight of the weekend was my second place in a 5$ 45 seater. Good for a payout of 48$ bringing my BR on Stars for the first time ever above 150$.
Also followed some advice from Scott and decided to play some 2.20$ sats to the Sunday 100k. I won 2 tickets for the Sunday 100k. Unregistered for my first win but I will play it tonight.
Played 23 SNGs this weekend. Good for a net profit of $37.16. ITM: 30.43%. ROI: 45.90%.
Good luck at the tables,
Dremeber

Short session today |
Due to my Spanish class I only played 59 hands this evening. But the result is promising, a profit of $2.70. So I almost can change my red figures for the month into green ones.
Wanted to play a little bit longer but suddenly everybody disappeared from the table. Don't have a clue why cause I was catching up on RTR.
My biggest loss today within one hand was 0.90$. I guess this is a lot when you only bring $5 to a 0.05/0.10 table and above all it could have been avoided. After the flop I had 8 outs on my straight with the Q and 10 in my hands and the K and J on the flop. The villain raised 0.25$ (a pot size bet) and although the odds were against me I called. No help on the turn and he puts in another bet (0.55$) and cause I was pot committed at that time (at least that was my impression) I called again. The pot odds were around 2,5/1 and I had around 8/1 odds to complete. So should have folded for sure.
The hand that made my session was the AA beating the KK.
Cannot complain. Back above $15 on Tilt so the BR is at least heading again in the right direction.
Good luck at the tables,
Dremeber

Ring game practice |
I decided to leave to SNGs at Stars at rest for the moment. I still have 14$ in my Full Tilt account and I want to use it to improve my ring game play. Another reason is that my SNG results in the past few days were excellent so there is a big chance that I will face some minor result because I suddenly think that I could win the WPT. And the 14$ in the Full Tilt account does not leave room for errors.
So started today. Only played 166 hands. The time left I will use to evaluate my hands. Made a profit of $2.15. Woohoo. The start of a new million.
Pretty card dead. Q2 was dealt 6 times. AK 4 times but each time no improvement on the flop.
97 was my most expensive starting hand. Making middle pair on the flop and two pairs and the river but the second king on the turn gave my opponent three of a kind of kings. He hid it well.
The most profit of the evening was made with 63suited. Got it while sitting in BB. The SB completes after everybody else folded. The flop gave me 4 spades. I raise 0.10$ to see that the SB had. The SB re-raise 0.60$. For some stupid reason I decided to call and my stupidness was rewarded with the flush card on the turn.
I hope this is the start of a new good run at the ring games. Well see.
Good luck at the tables,
Dremeber

Don't know what to say |
...but my ring game stats are really bad and frustrating. And now analyzing my hands and okay there are some leaks in my game but they cannot explain the almost 40$ loss for this month.
The hand most dealt to my is 93 not suited. 15 times out of 659 hands.
I know now that I may not over play my 1010. This hand alone is almost 25% of my losses. Got it dealt 5 times. 2 times a small profit (not above 0.35$), one time a small loss (today when I folded it after a big raise after me) and 2 big losses. Once I ran into AA which costed me 4.45$ and once I ran into a set of 6s. The problem here was that none of the cards on the flop were higher than my 10 or gave a flop or straight possibility. But his re-raise all-in should have turned on a light inside me.
Also the jacks were not with me last week. Had a real suckout against a flush after hitting the third J on the flop. The other time that I lost big with my jacks was when I ran into Kings.
As you can see I have the strong feeling that the cards are against me. The evidence that I also made loss with 5 times pocket pair kings proves this. Loosing a race against A10 and they even failed to failed to beat a pocket pair of 4s.
On the other hand on the SNG side of poker I cannot complain.
The conclusion: on the ring games I have to go back to the basics before my money at Full Tilt dries out.
More luck at the tables than myself,
Dremeber

New lay-out, new stats, new start? |
As you can see I have changed the colors of my blog. This setup should be much more relaxing for the eyes. Also the problem with the always smaller font is solved thx to the guys and girls at the bloggerforum.
The bad luck of the week is the fact that I lost my excel sheet with my stats. There were only stats from one month but still. Luckily I still have some tooling to fall back on.
So what does the tooling tell me.
a) I'm better at higher stakes SNGs. (With higher stakes I mean 5 and 6$ SNGs)
b) I'm playing my worst ring game poker.
c) This is the top 3 of the starting hands with which I lost the most money:
* 3rd place: The meaningless 33. Had it 4 times in 374 hands and causing a loss of 3.45$. Twice I tried to limp in and bailed out when a raise came post flop and not making the set. And another time I blacked out and called an all-in with this stupid 33 running into AA.
* second place: KK Raised 4 times the BB. Got a caller. Flop J25 rainbow. Raised all-in post flop running into pocket 4s.
* TT: Only once. All-in post flop running into AA.
Good luck at the tables,
Dremeber

Almost weekend |
It’s time for a decent blog post again.
It’s hard after the holiday to pick up the regular life again. Going back to work, playing poker and above all to get to the normal sleep rhythm.
I have read some poker blogs during the Uefa cup games of last night. Some of them are getting really great result other have great posts etc… not ashamed to tell that I envy some of you guys and girls out there.
If I had Dremeber awards like UKGatsby posts at the end of each month and I would have an award for the dumbest move of the month, it is already decided and the month is already 4 days far. Yesterday evening I was multi tabling 2 ring games at Tilt. Being patient like I should play with my micro BR. Suddenly I see that on the table on the left I finally got the mighty AA. In my happiness I move over my mouse pointer to left table to activate it but at the same time Bruges missed their so many chance. Not fully concentrated I click to see in my astonishment that I folded the hand. How dumb can you be.
My poker mind is also not what it should be. To much swings in my playing style and patience. There are sessions which I play like I should do, other session I seem to be an unguided rocket chasing everything it sees and making multiple decisions at the same time. As a result I only have a $1.5 profit for the month on the ring games and a $4 loss on the SNGs/MTTs.
In contrast with my mind described above, I think that I know what I will do with the money I can clear at Full Tilt. I will buy PokerTracker. This will make my life a lot easier with recording my stats. Now I still have to work with a stupid excel sheet. The only thing which is holding my back is the price of the tool.
Tonight I will be playing in the RTR league game once more. This will be my third participation in the league. At the moment I’m standing at the 21st place. With only 2 league games to go it is still not decided who is going to win the first season. Three still have a chance on the title. Acornman (Zagga) is in the driving seat with a 5 points lead over rickyrose. On third place we find dB (ResdentEvil) with 194 points. If he would have played in all 8 previous match days he for sure would have at least 10 points more.
Let’s look at the ranking from a different point of view, namely the profit view.
8 players made a profit so far in the RTR league. Leading this profit ranking is surprisingly Dana (Buffy78) with a profit of 42.50$, just behind her (I guess) we have dB (ResdentEvil) with a profit of $42. At the bottom of the ranking we find The_Cloud (the_cloud71) and Mair38 with a loss of 44 bucks. But sheers to these 2 players cause they participated in all of the league games together with rickyrosa, Acornman (zagga) and hammerheid.
My participation tonight will only be for the statistics. Don’t have the idea that I will end ITM but maybe I can influence the standing at the top.
Some other useless information about the RTR league:
So far 30 players have played at least one match day.
On average there were 13 participants per match day.
The average price pot per match day was 65.62$.
5 players have played all the league games.
30% of the field only showed up once. 2 of these players ended ITM.
RickyRosa won the most money (80.50$) which is 15% of the total price money.
The total price pot so far is: 525$. The 5 players who played on the league games have put 200$ in the price pot equal to 38% of the total.
Good luck at the tables,
Dremeber

September |
The most important thing is that for the first time I had set a goal and reached it. My goal was to have a BR on Stars above $100 and currently the BR is at $103.81.
Also I may not forget that I cashed 60$ out of the blue on Ultimate.
My combined BR at the moment is:
Stars: $103.81
FT: $47.88
Total: $151.69
So time to set the goals for this month.
1) Free the money at FT. I'm playing there with a No Deposit Bonus. I need 1000 FPPs to free my money. At the moment I have 270.
2) Bring my overall BR to above 200$.
Challenging enough for me I guess.
Cheers,
Dremeber
