Have been flying in the clouds but my last results brought me back to earth!
Tried a 10$ 10 seater (no turbo) to see how I would manage at the level. Wasn't so bad. The use the bloggerment term, I was the Bridesmaid :(. Lost against quads of queens!
Played 2 180 seaters (4,40$). But in the first was my aces where cracked which crippled me, leaving me behind with only 800 chips! (Average was 3500 at the time) Still managed to end in 27th place mainly cause of dead cards (86 83 37 27 etc...).
Lost a 18 seater again against quads of queens with my full house jacks full a aces.
Bankroll back under 60 :(.
Update: Tilted completely. My tilt was for my bankroll a big one, a loss of 21$ on stars. Luckily I won something back on the ring games on Ultimate (profit of 5 fucking $).
FPP to go on stars around 160. Thx to my upswing last sunday, this should be possible, without many evenings as these ofcourse.
Raked hands to go an Ultimate around 180. Will be though but I will do my utmost best!
Cheers,
Dremeber

BritBloggerment 19: An Unexpected winner: ME! |
O man, what a rollercoaster of emotions. I did not came to the bloggerment with a lot of expectations. Was already proud on myself cause I earned enough the last week that my bankroll allowed me to register.
A lot of records broken for me with this bloggerment. First time survived the first hour, first time reached the final table, First win! Biggest win ever. And this against players which I all respect and I assume that at least 50% of the field was more experienced and a better poker player than me. It is like winning the WPT as an amateur. Couldn't even fall into sleep, to much adrenaline in my body :).
Also for the first time in my life I could withdraw money from a pokerroom instead of depositing!
This is my version of the tournament.
First of all, sorry if I was neglecting the chat. Needed all my concentration on the plays.Got so many flushes, unbelievable. Also, lots of respect for 9 lives cat: MikeSaban. He was like weed almost impossible to eliminate.
Hand 16: First time doubled up.
Holding pocket pair 4s. Poor Spid ran into these with going all-in after my re-raise. Holding pocket pair Ts.In the next 30 hands I thrown away around 1000 chips with bad play.
Hand 48: My first bounty (if there were any)
Sitting in BB with K5 unsuited. JBWales throws all his 210 chips in. Had to call only 160, around 5% of my stack.Used the 2 pairs on the board with a higher kicker to elimate JBWales. Who was holding pocket 6s.
Hand 80: Miraculous save
Cannot blame that Al Eleven was swearing at me. I had 2400 chips at the moment and was willing to make a move with myKJ unsuited. Raise of 1 times the BB and of course a call. The flop 6 8 J. Don't know what I was thinking but I tried to bluff and raised all-in. A no brainer for Al Eleven to call with his pockets 8s. And than the miraculous save on the turn and the river. A J and a K making my FH. Poker can be so dishonest! This hand made my tournament. With 4318 chips I could wait for my monsters.
Hand 90: Folded AK unsuited against an preflop all-in call from Al Eleven after my 4BB raise. At that moment did not want to risk my tournament life. Had already to much luck.
Hand 109: My first flush!
Stack at the moment was 4843. Got Q 10 suited diamonds sitting in BB.The cloud raises all-in from early position. Meaning at least an A with something higher than a 10. A call costed me around 20% of my stack. Don't know why but I called making the flush on the river. Sorry Cloud this was a call against all odds. But I had the river and straight possibilities.
Hand 134: Second Flush! And a big pot.
The FT started at hand 136.
Weegem: 12650
Dremeber: 11966
Wadhead: 10765
surflexus: 7015
Suffolkpunch: 4655
Al Eleven: 4391
moz_1986: 4069
Mikesaban: 2786
HullJimi: 203
Hand 142: Pocket pairs 2s.
I hate those cards, so I decide to limp in and run away on the first raise.Flop 4 7 2 with 2 hearts. Moz goes all-in. Has he hit a pair? I call with 25% of my chips. It is not the moment to throw away 3 of a kind. Moz shows hit top pair 7s. And got no rescue on the turn or the river.
Hand 146: Bubble time.
Dremeber: 16285 (Not used at this level. Everybody is stealing my chips. And I don't succeeded in stealing somebody else blowing my table image if I had one.)
Wadhead: 13331
Weegem: 12400
Surflexus: 9118
Suffolkpunch: 5030
Mike"stillhere"Saban: 2336
Hand 164: Thrown away 3600 chips, cause I did not trust the re-raise of Surflexus. Raised 4BB with A10 unsuited. Should have called as BB the first raise instead of trying a reraise.
Hand 174: Again to scared to play.
Not used to have so aggressive/experienced players around me.Thrown away 1200 chips after again an all-in reraise of Suffolkpunch. Was holding A3 so more or less a no brainer. Shouldn't have raised in the first place.
Hand 185: Third time a big flush.
Sitting in middle position got A(d)Q UNSUITED. Decide to raise 3BB and got a call from the BB (SurFlexus). After the flop (6d Kd Jc) I raise to see if the cards made surflexus stronger. But he just calls! So probably not. On the turn there is another diamond. Surflexus just checks giving me a free card to complete my flush. And yes the river gives me the 8 of diamonds.Only an A of diamonds would beat me. He raises only 650?? Easy call and victory!
Hand 195: The bubble is popped!
The bubble lasted for at least 49 hands! Sitting in SB with A5 unsuited. I call the BB who checks. On the flop I see A 7 5 rainbow. Decide to play rope-a-dope and I just check. Suffolkpunch bites the bait and raises 1200. The re-raise was a no brainer, also the call when he went all-in.He showed middle pair 7s and was beaten.
Hand 206: lost 3600 chips without a showdown. Ran scared away from the pot.
Hand 234: Surflexus elimated by Wadhead. 4 left. Already counting my winnings!
Hand 240: Finally MikeSaban gave up the figth! 3 left.
Hand 241: This one pulled Wadhead back to the peleton!
Getting AA. Wadhead raises 2400, I re-raise 7200. No brainer! Again a re-raise from my side to 10400. To me delight Wadhead pushes it all the way and goes all-in. Again an easy call. I'm always the favorite! He shows KK and got no rescue! Was a pot of 22280 chips.
Hand 252: Weegem gets eliminated with a pair of threes vs 2 pairs.
Hand 253: HU starts
Hand 264: This one turned things around.
Pure luck. Got A4 and decide that this is the moment. I raise 4800. To my horror Wadhead raises 10800. What now, he has been bullying some time on the FT so I decide to go all-in. What a mistako to mako. He calls and shows A8 vs my A4. He got a real nasty bad beat here with a 4 on the river! Giving me a lead of around 18000 chips.
Hand 270: WTF! I won. Breath! Breath! Pinch your arms. Ouch not that hard!
Hole Cards: KJ unsuited.
I do the standard raise of 4800 and Wadhead re-raises all-in. This is the moment. I decide to call. He shows J9 suited. So it will be a coin flip. And bang the flop, makes me the winner with a straight. No clubs, so it is sure!Amazing!
Wonder what my table image was!
Cheers,
Dremeber

second set of 20 finished |
I finished my second set of 20 SNGs in the chase for clearing my deposit bonus. And the results are very much above expectations.
40% ITM. Won 5 of these SNGs. Got in third in three other occasions. Made a profit of 35.2$.
Overal I'm now 27,5% ITM and made a profit of 21.8$.
But what I find very strange is that within all 40 the the SNGs I never finished second or 4th.
As I posted before, these results are to good to be based on pure luck. At least that is what I hope. Of course, some luck is always involved with playing poker. You need to have the luck that your AA are not cracked. Or that the others don't make the flush or the straight.
Also, I understand now that a bad beat can be your own fault. A week ago I lost 12$ in a ring game cause I was slow playing my straight. Cause of this the implied odds always gave the vilan the chance of calling and so completing his flush! Back then I really felt as a bad beat but now I understand that I gave him every right the call my minimal raises over and over again.
Bankroll at Stars is now at 62$.
Remaining FPPs needed: 152.
Good luck,
Dremeber

It is getting better |
More than half way in my second set of 20 1,75 18 seater SNGs.
And the results are promising. 13 played. Won 3 of them, got in third in 2 other occasions.
Overall I have now a profit of 7$. Not much but better than red figures.
My bankroll is now up to 37$ with also still 5 tournament $s remaining. So I have now a bankroll for 24 more of these SNGs.
Yesterday I also tried the 3,20$ 10 seater. And also a second place there and on thursday I won a tickets to the Sunday 100k on Stars, which I traded for the tournament $.
It is more than luck I guess. These last results cannot be explained with pure luck. so what is the difference? According to me:
1) so scanning trough the hand histories of MrPink opened my eyes. I played to many opening hands.
2) I start to get a feeling when I have to bet how many.
3) Patience, patience and patience.
Also on SharkScope my stats are improving.
Also joined the Raise the River community, hope that this will also improve my play!
Good luck,

Down swingon ultimate and upswing on stars |
Would like a day that I can report an upswing on both rooms but it is not even close at the moment.
Lost 15$ in the past days on ultimate. On all on money tables!!!
U can't imagine the players there. They call an all-in with a fucking 6 8 unsuited. And of course they are rewarded with the straight. What can u do about it? Besides not playing poker of course.
On stars on the other it is going better. I'm recovering small pieces of my losses.
6 SNGs far in the second set of 20 SNGs. Won two of them!!
As you can see the hill I'm facing is still rather steep! But I hope that we will get there. Patience is the keyword I guess.
Probably u are going to read this a lot later than intended with thanks to the blogger bots! They marked my blog as a Spam Blog. Don't even know what it means but it doesn't sound good. Hope that blogger quickly and swiftly removes the lock of my blog.

First set of 20 finished |
I finished my first set of 20 SNGs in the chase of my deposit bonus!
The results are disappointing. A loss of 13.40$. Only 3 times ITM, meaning 15%. Luckely I won one, which minimizes the loss.
Below all my results of the first set.
Also started with my second set. 2 SNGs far. Won once, the other one resulted in a 7th place.
Will not be playing on Ultimate tonight. Pretty tired and I decided to only play when I'm fit.
Yesterday we had a birthday party at home for my wife. So, did not play a lot. One session on the real table combined with a one SNG. Won the SNG and had a micro profit on the money table. Still have to play 281 hands!
Still need 176 FPP on Stars but I don't believe that I free that money.

Money tables |
Didn't play on PokerStars today. I don't have a good feeling about my play at that room at the moment, secondly I want to clear th 500 rakes hands as fast as possible at the moment. Also, I don't believe that I will be capable of clearing the deposit bonus on Stars.
So, how it is going at the money tables at Ultimate?
Not so bad. First of all, I played 121 raked hands, I guess. The problems is that nowhere on Ultimate you can see how many hands you have played. So, each time when I deposit some money in the pot, I will check the hand as raked!
So far, I have played 6 money table sessions. Got away with a profit in 5 session, but lost 3.23$ in session 3. My profit at the moment is 4.57$ I also cleared 1.53$ bonus dollars. So a net profit of 6.10$. Not worth calculating the ROI, cause that would be very minimal. Rough estimation is a ROI of 1.50$ per hour. But if I would make each day an average profit of 3$ per day, that would be a 1000$ a year!!

Quick update |
I'm I back in the zone? Doubt it but still good results for tonight.
I played 3 SNG op Stars. And yes I got twice ITM (otherwise I wouldn't be posting this).
But wait! It gets even better. It took some time but yes I won one! Long time ago that I ended a poker day on stars with a profit.
Also played 2 SNGs op Ultimate. I yes, also there I stepped down from a table as the WINNER. Not much to brag about cause it was only a 1$ 10 seater. But still also a profit on Ultimate. Made some losses on money tables but I increased my raked hands! And that is the goal on Ultimate.

O man I'm bad |
Still cannot believe it!
Or I'm the worst player in the world with now and then a portion of luck!
Or I have a period of bad luck. With a capital B and a capital L. God must be on a holiday!
To make things worse. The website which is offering the 50$ no deposit on Full Tilt mailed that i first have to play 450 more ranked hands before they will hand me the 50$.
So, I had to deposit some money on Ultimate. Resulting in the fact that all my Poker money now is divided over 2 PokerRooms. And we are speaking about a lot of money. At least 30$.
So, I decided to added an Freeroll overview to the left frame.
Nothing more to say at the moment.

Bad streak, bad beats, bad play |
Not going very well with my challenge. So far 8 SNGs played.
And nothing, nada, zip.
Luckily I won 0.06$ with a freeroll last night. Nope, the . stands at its correct place.
I registered for a 50$ No deposit bonus on Full Tilt. I'm sure I'm going to get it cause the site which is offering it, never let me down. That can be start of new bankroll. Lol
Anyway if you are also interested goto YourPokerCash.

Lay-out change and more frustration |
Yesterday I got so frustrated with playing poker that I decided to take
the jump and use a new template (more about this later in this post).
Yesterday was a bad day to start my new challenge. Played 7 SNGs and not
even once ITM. I suffered so many bad beats and only one I can take the
blame for myself. I was holding AA is the second hand of the first SNG.
I raise 100 not to scare everybody away, what is the profit if you can
only take the initial blinds in this stage? Got 2 caller. Nothing scary
on the flop (1 spade), so I raise another 100. One of the callers folds,
the other one calls again. The turn gives another spades. Because I'm
now scared for the flush I raise 200 and he calls again. And of course
another spade on the river.
Another one was AK also second hand of the SNG. I raise 80 and got 2
callers. The flop is K 5 8. The one in front of me raises 100. I call
and the donkey behind me goes all-in. The first player calls and me to.
Player 1 shows AK (so a tie) and the villan shows a fucking K3. And the
3 on the river was expected.
I can describe al lot more of these, but to be brief:
Lost with 99 vs QQ.
Lost With A 10 vs A3.
Lost with KQ vs Q3 suited.
About the lay-out. It took quiet some time to get it decent. First I had
to remove all the existing page elements before I could upload the new
template but of course I forgot to make copies of these. Bugger! This is
way not everything is already in place. I hope that I can round it up
this evening.
I had to re-enter all the links manually to the blogs I read again (they
got lost in the lay-out transfer). It is possible that I forgot somebody
or that I named a blog incorrect. If so, please drop me a comment so
that I can correct it.
With the new lay-out I'm trying to bring more structure in this blog.
Separating the friendly links (blogs I read, sharkscope, etc...) from
the advertisement!
I hope you like it!

Dremeber

Paedocyprisis |
For once this post will be a long one. Don't be discouraged by the
length of the post to read it all!
First things first. It was a good holiday. The weather could be better
but it was away from all the normal routines.
On Sunday I played some Poker again. Got twice ITM in the 1,75 18
seater. Lost some money with the bloggernament from which I should stay
away.
The competition there is to strong for me. Last night I took a big
gamble by going all-in with 1 more club to go for the flush after the
flop. Was called immediately with top pair kings. And no rescue on the
turn and river. Like it should be to be honest.
My bankroll at Stars is very low again. Around 5$. So the question is
what to do next. It gives me the opportunity to play 3 more 1,75 18
seaters. But a big chance that it will end there.
I know that I'm not the best poker player in the world and for sure not
the least but I keep losing money.
There is only 50$ left in my online bankroll, stashed away from all the
poker rooms. I need around 20$ for the next football season. So, only
30$ and
I don't have the direct intention to do a new deposit.
One of my goals was to clear the Deposit bonus at stars. But that has
become extremely hard. I now have collected 50% of the required FPPs.
Reaching the requirement would mean a 40$ recovery from my losses. But
I'm 75$ in the red! Okay it can be worse. Last Thursday I have seen
somebody loosing 12.000 euros at the roulette at the Casino in
Middelkerke. Shocking!
Maybe this is an indication to quit with playing online poker! There is
no use in keep funding something if there are no signs of improvement.
Whoow this sounds depressive, which I'm not in general :).
So, the following options remains:
1) Stop with playing poker, deposit 20$ in my sportsbetting account and
deposit the remaining 30 on my regular bank account
2) Deposit another 20$ on Stars, 20$ on my sportsbetting account and 10$
on my Unibet Poker account.
3) Deposit 30$ on my stars account and the other 20$ on my sportsbetting
account.
The Pros and the Cons:
1) This probably will not be to chosen option. I love to play poker, I
love write about poker on my blog! I just hate it when I play like an
absolute donkey. Maybe it should change my nick to Paedocyprisis (more
info can be found on
http://www.boingboing.net/2006/01/25/smallest_fish_in_the.html).
2) This will give me the chance to play around 12 18 seaters. That is if
I never get ITM. But if this is the case, then option 1 is sequel. Also
there are maybe more stupid fishes than me in the Unibet Pound! The
downside is that I probably never will reach the deposit bonus criteria!
3) Gives me more chance to get the deposit bonus which I'm chasing. But
O man, what will it be hard. This means that I should play 200 of these
SNGs. 200 SNGs means a bankroll of 350$ (swallow). Meaning that in each
set of 15 SNGs I should at least have the following results. 2 second
places, 2 third places and 2 fourth places. Giving back 32$. Is this
feasible? We will see.
Option 3 it will be!
So here we go with the new challenge.
The rules where I have to stick to!
1) Don't play to loose, don't play to loose, don't play to loose.
2) Stick with this type of SNG!!!!! Forget the great bloggernament, 1$
100$ added MTT, and all the other ones.
3) If I loose 2 SNGs back 2 back, it is done for that session.
Will the miss the bloggernament for sure. If my bankroll reaches 50$
again, I will try it again.
Thx for all the encouraging comments.
And special thanks to Scott (http://acefilleddreams.blogspot.com/) for
pimping my blog!
Cheers,
Dremeber

I finally did it! |
Now you're asking what did he finally do! Well for the first time I won the 1,75$ 18 seater on Stars. Compared with the results of other poker blogger this is peanuts, but for myself I consider this a great result. I knew that it was getting close after 3 4th places, a third place and a second one.
Also, it is the second day in a row that I made a small profit. So slowly I crawling back to the green figures. I know it will take some times but theres light at the end of the tunnel.
But what a dive I took. I still cannot believe it. Super Tilt was the term that Shark scope was using. (http://www.sharkscope.com).
And my profit of today could be bigger. But no, I had to try twice the turbo 6 seater of 3,25$. Big mistake. My play does not suite this table. If my bankroll is increased enough I will try some more of those, but for the moment I wont touch them.
Until next sunday or monday I wont post. In the mean while you can read some of the terrific blog on http://poker.onbloglist.com or my favorite poker blog http://www.mias-dad.blogspot.com/.
Also put some effort in my poker bloglisting. I'm still trying to put some comments in good blog, hoping that they will sign up. But of it is hard to build up the number of blogs. Cannot blame those blogger, cause probably my comments look like spam :(.
Happy blogging and playing poker!

Breaking the loosing streak but still a fish! |
Last night I was capable of ending ITM in 3 SNGs. Twice in the 1.75$ 18 seater (4th e place) on PokerStars and once in the 1.20$ 40 seater (5th place).
It gave me a good feeling, finally my game is improving again. This thanks to MrPink72.
We exchanged some histories of played SNGs. This gave me insight in his game and opened my eyes.
Before I played too many starting hands from the wrong position. If the price for such a hand was not to high I would limp in. Bringing me in lots of time in danger. For instance with the second top pair after the flop. Being in a early position I most of the time don’t want just to check such a hand, so I riase. Very few times you can win the pot with such an action, but it becomes difficult when one of the other players at the table re-raises. At that moment you should fold your hand or having so many outs on a flush or straight that you can calculate the odds. But still then it is a gamble. And with gambling you most of the time will not win!
Even more difficult is the situation if you get some limpers on your hand. Most of the time I feel like I have the super hand at the table but more often somebody is slow playing. Such hands cost me a lot of chips in a SNG. So I have to avoid these situation. I should work on this.
Also I ask myself now the following question a lot: Do I want to risk my tournament play with this hand?
The problem is that a SNG tends to get boring, if you play too strict. It isn’t always necessary to play so strict. Just you should consider and in my case reconsider and reconsider again your position and situation.
This evening I wont be playing a lot. My wife has rented a sauna for my birthday last month! So, it will be nice and relaxing.
From Sunday on, we will go on a small holiday to the Belgian Coast! For sure I will visit the casino in Middelkerke but I will only play Caribean Stud Poker there and maybe some roulette.
I will update this blog once more before the holiday. I hope I will finish “Poker For Dummies” during the holiday so that I can start with a fresh mind and some more knowledge with playing poker again.
Also, I’m looking for a new template for my blog. I’m going to try to pimp it up! Trying to bring more structure in my blog. A big challenge for me!
For the moment I will concentrate on the 1,75$ 18 seater on PokerStars. I will play it until I win! It should be possible!
Also I should try to avoid the 3$ and more SNGs, cause my bankroll cannot cope with these at the moment.
Still I will continue the 1$ tourney for the Benelux. The reason, Pokerstars gives 2 FPPs for playing in this tourney, in stead of the expected 1!
Pokerstars account: 18$ (Yep took a new dive again)
Collected FFP: 150 (So 250 more to go)
Cheers and Good Luck,

Poker for Dummies! |
Yep thats me. That's why i bought the book.
Don't know what is happening but I fail each time over and over again the qualify for the Money.
Shark scope even has troubles to define my tilt status!
Still making the one after the other bad decision. And if I play correct I get the one bad beat after the other.
So nothing much to report.
Also, it looks like a lot of blogs I read are on a hold.
Werchter was not so bad after all. I came to the conclusion that even drunk I don't like Pearl Jam and that I only know one song of them.
